Who Is Going To Farnborough 2004?

Hi guys,

I just curious to find out how many a.members will be going to the Farnborough Airshow this year.

I myself am going for the first time. I live in Aruba, but I'll be non-revving to AMS with my employer KLM to visit my parents. I decided to take advantage of the situation and purchased a ticket from RTM to STN with Basiq Air and a entry ticket for the show on-line for 20 pounds. (24 & 25 July)

Just a few questions: Is it really worth seeing the show and should you go on both days or is one just enough?

I certainly hope it's good.

From what I have been told by people who have been, Farnborough is well worth the visit, I'm hoping to go too if my wife can get tickets from her boss! I can also non-rev on SAA and stay with my sister in Maidenhead so overall it could be a very cheap trip!

After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Well for me it was certainly a cheap trip. I also bought those London Visitor Cards for public transportation. They were recommended to me by a few people who already have been to London. But I had to buy them in advance as they are not obtainable in the UK.

How far is Farnborugh from Manchester? Or rather, the question should be: how can I get from Farnborugh to MAN? I'm planning on going IF I can find a free frequent flyer ticket, but so far the only return I have been able to find is from MAN.

Manchester and Farnborough are about 250 miles apart.
If you wish to fly, fly MAN-LGW and there is a train from Gatwick, though you may need to change.

If you take the train, Manchester to Reading (my home town Smile

), then over to platform 4B for the Farnborough train. It will be a short bus / taxi ride from Farnborough station.

Been before - one day is enough to see everything although you won't be able to see all of the flying display if you want to look around the exhibitors stalls.

I'll be there on the 25th.

I'll be there on the 25th, after I return from Palma the previous day. So i obviously can't go on the 24th. Wasn't the last 1 or 2 airshows over a period of 4 or 5 days? I must be confusing it with the Lakeland Airshow, but i'm sure it was because i remember going on a friday (i think) in 2000.

I will be there the 24th. I also booked tickets online.
Flying AMS-LGW, BA8110 and back LGW-AMS BA 8121. Then take the train (I guess) to North Camp. I'm there to take lots and lots of pictures!

I would really like it to meet some a.net people there! So, mail me if somebody else wants to meet up.

I might be there.
If you're going try and get there on the 24th, I've just checked the website and that is the only public day out of the two that the SAA 744 is doing a flying display.
