Swiss just uploaded thier winter 04/05 trans-Atlantic schedule. Subject to change, of course. No major changes, just frequency adjustments and all destinations intact. Only three destinations, however, will be served daily: Chicago, Miami, and New York City.
Winter 2004/2005 trans-Atlantic for Swiss:
Boston: -1w (6w 332)
Chicago: unchanged frequency; downgraded from MD11 to 332 (7w 332)
Los Angeles: unchanged (5w 343)
Miami: +2w (7w 332)
Montreal: -1w (6w 332)
New York City: unchanged (6w 332/1w 343 to ZRH/7w 332 to GVA)

LX's own service to EWR will be replaced by a Privat Air operated all-Business Class service with A319 as from January 15. LX will retire its A332 from the route an will remain at JFK only with its own airframes.
This is a far cry from the haydays of Swissair when the airline had up to 6 daily services between Switzerland and the New York area (3 times ZRH-JFK, daily GVA-JFK, ZRH-EWR and BSL-EWR).
As for YUL, there is indeed an increase for the winter season, as LX and formerly SR used to operate only 5 weekly frequencies into Quebec.
Overall, though, sad to see the further demise of the once mighty SR network. The closure of EWR and KHI is likely to be followed by further fleet reductions.
