Top U.S. Airlines - 1964

I received my Air Transport World 40th anniversary issue the other day. In the magazine they have an interesting chart listing the top airlines in 1964 in both RPKs and fleet size. Here are the stats (I have omitted the foreign airlines):

RPKs (000,000):
1. United - 10,061 (fleet size 251)
2. Pan Am - 9,027 (fleet size 115)
3. TWA - 8,875 (fleet size 178)
4. American - 8,159 (fleet size 167)
5. Eastern - 6,479 (fleet size 180)
6. Delta - 3,583 (fleet size 84)
7. Northwest - 3,045 (fleet size 53)
8. National - 2,063 (fleet size N/A)
9. Western - 1,965 (fleet size N/A)
10. Braniff - 1,544 (fleet size 52)
11. Continental - 1,355 (fleet size N/A)

BOAC would have been #6 in RPKs (after Eastern) at 4,001 (fleet size was #16 at 54).

Interesting that 6 of the 10 don't even exist anymore.

Also, the bottom two that remain on the list are the two in the best financial state at the moment.

I wonder what it will look like in 2044?
