Well, Rams aren't the normal wildlife in the LFT area, but today, this bird showed up...
MSY had a groundstop due to the departure of Air Force 2, so LFT got the diversion. The plane was there for about an an hour, then made the quick 18 minute hop back over to MSY and ultimetely DEN after a flight number change.

You got it. Lafayette,LA. The home to the world's best cajun restaurant, Prejean's. Talk about good eating!
LFT doesn't get any mainliners anymore. CO was running a DC9 and later a 737-500 to IAH, but it looks like it has been discontinued.

Is that something going on with F9 was here in LFT?
Answer is in Steve's original post: MSY had a groundstop due to the departure of Air Force 2, so LFT got the diversion.
Steve,
When did he finally leave MSY for DEN? I thought I saw him from the access road around 4:45PM.

Tom, he finally left at 5:25pm. Had a ground time in MSY of 40 minutes. Used gate C-1 as JetBlue had to use C-3. An interesting afternoon to say the least. Have a great trip!

Tom or Steve..is there a reason for using MSY over Lakefront for VIP visits like this? I noticed GWB used MSY while visiting a few weeks ago. Just curious.

Jetsaurus,
We've got more ramp space available for AF1 over here. Also, our primary runway, 10/28, is 10,104', while NEW's longest is 18R/36L at 6,880'.
The NAS at Belle Chasse saw Clinton a couple of times, but the vast majority of the time, we get the prez.
