me and my g/f will be in AMS in July and we would like to go somewhere from July 31 - Aug 3. Which city would be worth to visit and fly cheaply, except LON because we will be stopping there on the way back to YYZ.

PS: IS there a website will all the european LCCs in order to find cheap fare at one place.

Come to Yorkshire!

Fantastic shopping and nightlife in the cosmopolitan city of Leeds.

If you like the outdoors then some of the finest scenery in England can be found with the Yorkshire Dales a short, cheap train ride away (head for Skipton, gateway to the Dales). On the way there you can stop off and catch one of the restored steam trains up to Haworth, birthplace and home of the Bronte sisters.

Loads to see and do in Yorkshire, too much to mention here.

Get flights with Jet2 (see http://www.jet2.com). Prices are currently 139 euros return including all taxes from AMS for the departure and return dates you stated.

OK, I'll take my tourism chief hat off now.  Smile

Try openjet.com. it compares fares on most loco airlines (except Ryanair) and even tells you about connection possibilities between them.

I could of course always recommend Dublin for some laughs...but Scottishladdies suggestion is good too!  Wink/being sarcastic

You wont have many problems getting cheap flights from AMS, You can try Easyjet.com, basiqair.com, smartwings.net (For prague flights), Aerlingus.com for Ireland, Meridiana.it for Florence, italy.. you're pretty much spoilt for choice really.

If you like an element of surprise, than go to klm.nl.. they have a cool last minute service called "click and go" which you will find under the "acties en aanbiedingen" menu (if you are on the Dutch site). This will offer flights leaving the next day to a small range of destinations that have spare seats. You dont know what they are until you log on (after 13.00 hours on the day before you want to fly), but it can be kinda fun that way! If you dont want to pay with credit card, you can even arrange to pick up and pay for your tickets at Schiphol airport before you depart.

Hope this helps, and enjoy Amsterdam... it is everything it is cracked up to be and more  Wink/being sarcastic

The best time to visit in Finland and Helsinki is in July and August. Maybe you should visit to experience some finnish hospitality and enjoy our very loooong summer days as sunsets down very late in the evening.

Blue1, full fare quality subsidiary of SAS has special offer on HEL-AMS route: return ticket 129 Euros. Finnair offers return ticket for around 160-170 Euros including all taxes... also KLM has many daily flights to here and those are cheap as well

Have a nice trip, wherever you are going!
