EMB-123 Vector: Why Was It Cancelled?

If I remember correctly, this was a partnership program with Argentina. Why was it cancelled? I thought this plane could have a market, especially when we consider the success of the Beech 1900D, which is pretty much the only available plane in that market niche (20 pax commuter).
