From what I heard... easyJet were not going to be opening any more bases this year or the immediate future, as they receive new aircraft they will develop their existing bases.

I think Madrid would be a good option for Spanish base if they launch one.

I'm hoping either ORY or NCE - NCE has service already to GVA, AMS, SXF, DTM, ORY, CDG, BRS, STN, LTN , LGW, LPL, NCL and BFS - that's quite a presence. It would be great if U2 could take advantage of the collapse of Air Littoral, and install more domestic routes in France from NCE, and also to Spain and Italy.

DTM opened yesterday. I don't think anyone except the Airline Management Board know what the deal is with new bases. Spain would be absolutely fantastic (half the airline's workforce would apply for transfers  Big grin ), but there are some issues with the airports there - politics plays a big part in these decisions.

regards

Do they have any plans to expand operations eastwards Finland, Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania?

Yes, there are definitely plans for Scandinavia & the Baltic region - at the moment they're trying to reach agreements on airport fees etc.

Regarding eastern europe, we've just announced flights to Krakow & Warsaw (from Oct 31st) and increased frequencies to BUD (2 x daily Oct 31st).

regards

They have said that they want to base 4-6 aircraft in BSL until 2007.
