Are MD11s being converted to freighters?.. Yes. There are many still in passenger service and will stay there for a few years for airlines like KLM and Varig.

As far as the AZ MD11s that were going to LH.. Well, word was a week or so ago that AZ will be returning the MD11 to passenger service.. I don't know if anything has changed since I read it..

I thought the MD-11 all passenger types have gone to Lufthansa Cargo and the MD-11 Combi will return to Alitalia service.

It could be, VHTAE. I don't know true specifics yet. I'll try to find the thread and see if there was that type of info..

The KLM MD-11 will be around for at least another 6-8 years, don't know if the AF/KL connection kills the MD-11 operations a few years earlier.

But if you like MD-11s AMS is a good place for you  Smile

Lots of KLM and Martinair MD-11s and also lots of classic DC-10s of NW  Smile
