New Continental Destination From TUS

Just heard from our CO manager that they are announcing an new destination from TUS on Sunday...anyone have any ideas? My guess was CLE as she said it was a mainline flight with a 50 minute turn. We are getting EWR back, but that's not it. She's keeping it a secret! Smile

I think CLE would do well. We are pretty much busting at the seams, only having 1 mainline to IAH a day...the others are express and are ALWAYS full. If it is point to point, I really can't imagine where they would fly to from here...MEX would be an option, but I would think mainline would be too big...dunno.

I would guess it would be a Mexico destination, probably MEX. I have noticed CO adding more point to point's to destinations in Mexico, although mostly using ERJ's.

MEX would be smart actually as Mexicana has been flying a 757 up here taking deportees back to MEX....if CO was clever they would bid for that contract!

That's what we figured too...we were guessing SNA maybe since they flew there from TUS back in the early 90's...but the flight attendant said they bought a whole bunch of gates in SEA....we'll find out on Saturday. Smile

For an airline that, more than any of the big 6, sticks to it's hub system like glue, I think the new CO route has to be CLE-TUS. Seasonal, of course. Big grin

DL was planing on moving to the new concourse in SEA, so some gates have opened up in our concourse, possibly, but i can't imagine us doing that with AS up there.

Well we checked in SHARES and from what we can tell it's going to be EWR...a redeye starting on 30SEP. It will run during the day on Saturdays...I can't believe that's it...it's got to be something more than that!!! They already announced that earlier...so who knows!

It's in the CO system, don't know how long it will take to get in the public system...should be on their website though. It was just loaded today. It is still on 735. On Saturdays it will leave at 1:10p and other days 11:00p until the time change in Oct when it will change to 11:50p departure.

There is no way that CO would do this route. They codeshare with AS and currently AS flies the TUS-SEA route. So I think this would violate codeshare agreements.

I think that CO is probably going to do a TUS-CLE market...I think there is a demand for it anyway.

And, yes, CO does fly to SAN, but I dont know from where. They are in the same terminal as HP and DL.
