I am really interested in why DL 535 CVG-FLL diverted to MIA. The weather was, for the most part, beautiful...and I can't find another reason to divert SOUTH of your arrival city. The flight left CVG EARLY at 9:16am and arrived at MIA at 12:10pm and left MIA at 12:42pm (was scheduled for 1pm) and arrived at 1:29pm. All told, it was a total of 1 hour 39 minutes late to FLL. (not bad by diversion standards)
Anyone have any info on the diversion of flight 535?
Good to see those MIA-FLL Delta flights again!

interesting, we got nothing out here except for a few rumbles of thunder. Must have been pretty bad as traffic doesn't get put into a holding pattern often. Also, interesting that it had so little fuel left. Its only some 2 1/2 hours from CVG-FLL!

It really wasen't to bad today. Although I checked ATIS at 1:00pm and they had switched to 27R ILS ops. So there must have been something up there. It's funny cause when we get bad weather at PHL we switch to the 9's and at FLL they switch to the 27's. Was DL 535 operating as a MD-88?

Yea, It does always stink every year when the time comes for me to leave. I do always look foward to leaving the humidity behind though . I did post in a MIA related post about having a meet at MIA or FLL, I guess it fell below and no one saw it. I would have loved to meet some of the South Florida Photographers/ Spotters. I will be at MIA from 12:00pm to Sunset, Monday 7/26. I like to start at the threshold for 9 near El Dorado Furniture (NW 12th Ave & NW 72nd Ave), then around 3:00-3:30pm head to the "holes" at 8L, 8R and 12 for the Intl Heavy Departures taxiing by (end of NW 25th). I should be at FLL for my last time Tuesday, depending on how tired I'm from Tomorrow.

UAL747DEN...good point. Those taxi times at MIA are sometimes worse than traffic at the Golden Glades during rush hour, though...that probably contributed to the delay. I wish I could have known this was happening in advance, my favorite thing is hearing diversions and MIA-FLL flights that crusie at 3000 feet!

Something here doesn't sound right. If you hold for 12 minutes and then you have to divert for fuel, you have problems. The way I remember the reg was fuel to destination, then to an alternate, and then 45 minutes on top of that. Am I missing something here?
