I know that it's doing an extra SEA-NRT trip on the 29th at 1130a.

Does anyone know when and where the A/C will come from?? I want to try and get some pictures of it.

Thanks, Alex

The 332 as of last night was sitting outside of the maintenance hangars at MSP. Earlier in the day I saw some guys on a moving elevated platform taking photos (presumably for promotional literature). It is a very sharp looking machine and I can't wait to see more!

I would imagine that they would have taken pictures earlier, that way they could put her on the cover of the August NWA in-flight magazine.

Now that's a plug if I ever heard one!  Big grin

I admit, the composition is great. Though the plane itself, while it may be very nice, just doesn't strike my fancy. Just like the 762, they're too stubby. They need to be a little longer to keep the proportions correct, at least in my mind.

I think the 762 is a beauty.

Generally I agree, although the paint looks more striking than I remember. Starting to like it a little more.

As of lunch time it was sitting in the south satelitte next to the 742 in new colors. What a sight. But not as nice as the AS and QX airplanes, of course.

Why a smaller aircraft for SEA-NRT? I mean a 332 is a great Aircraft but the passenger and cargo capacity is quite lower. If you get my drift. If operation cost is the issue wouldnt cargo make up the diffrence?

I can see the A332 in the off Season but right now why not give 747-4 back (referring to my visit 1 year ago I believe NW flew a 747-4 in the summer and 747-2 in the offseason) then give MSP the A332 for MSP-AMS OR MSP-HNL trip? After August put the A332 on the SEA-NRT route, thus putting the 747-4 on a MSP-NRT route, Then in Octoberish or December Give SEA-AMS a A333 and the DC-10 can be sent to NRT. . . Ideas Comments?

Also in curiosity how many Mehcanical issue probs did DTW and MSP have when receiving their new A332's A333's? ~ In the Weeks following service ~

If NW really, really wants to, they can schedule an A330-300 on SEA-NRT.

It was still at S-8 when I went home. Assume it's staying there until it goes to NRT tomorrow.
Got some pictures at the gate - will appear on SEAspotter.com sometime tonight (PST).

Nice shot! Now I'm really looking forward to seeing it at PDX in October. Lately PDX has become a hospital for malfuntioning DC-10's. Last week at one point we had a total of three..
