Hi all,
I just booked a flight on AC from SFO to PEK via YVR (for the week after Christmas). I understand that this route is served by a 763. Can anyone comment on the AC service on this route? I recently flew on AC from SFO-YYZ-MUC and was happy with it. Is their Pacific service comparable? I'm wondering if there might be a few more perks since the flight is 3 hours longer.
Also, as a US citizen, I understand that I will need a visa to enter China. Do these usually get approved? I would appreciate any advice regarding this.

Hi Dom,
AC's service PEK is OK. They usuaslly has a good international product, but don't expect any additional goodies.
You should not have any problem in gettinga China visa, as long as you are not a journalist or reporter (these are covered under a special area and approval must be from Beijing). Beijing during X'mas time is quite cold, around minus 15C, but you can still visit a lot of good historical sites. Remember to get warm clothing when going to the Great Wall. It is up in the hills and can be windy and really cold.
Enjoy.

I've flown AC trans-Atlantic (YYZ-CDG) and trans-Pacific (YVR-SYD) and found the service on both to be very similar. I enjoyed both flights.
Although I have not visited China, I haven't heard of any significant problems in obtaining Visas, so long as the paperwork is filled out correctly and there aren't any unusual circumstances surrounding your visit.

Thanks! I'm very much looking forward to going to China. The Great Wall and the Forbidden City are things that I've always been wanting to see. Can't wait!
