I will be in and around Greater Los Angeles between August 30 and September 20...and of course I will try to go for spotting as often as possible at LAX, ONT, LGB and probably BUR and SAN.
Anyone from a.net interested in meeting me for spotting and discussing? Let me know!! Thanks!

Yes i am definitely interested in some spotting. I have one main location that I use but it would be great to meet up with other a.netters and get some good spotting done.

Hi Udo,
I split my time between Ventura County, Los Angeles County and Orange County.
My home is in Ventura County (westlake village actually), i go to USC so I live in southcentral Los Angeles during the school year and I work in huntington beach.
Anyway, as far as LAX is concerned, there are a couple of locations that I spot at...IN-N-OUT is one, the supermarket on sepulveda also, but I have to say that I do the best spotting at good old Parking Lot C.
Parking Lot C is right behind the two...northern? i guess runways and you get a constant stream of incoming planes.
Also it is free to park there for the first 2 hours
So far have not been harrassed by the popo.
But I am still a novice spotter and so would definitely like to hear about better locations etc.
I have heard that the other side of the airport is good, near the beach where you can get the planes taken off but haven't ventured over there yet.

Hey Michel,
How far is Whittier or Norfolk from your home?
Have you ever checked out the parking garages next to T2 and T3? I have spent most of the time up there in the last years. IN-N-OUT is a good place as well.

i dont live in LA, but i visit there frequently and spot there often. so far, i dont see Imperial Hill mentioned. while i like the In-N-Out spot, it doesnt let me watch the traffic on the south complex. from Imperial Hill you can pretty much see the entire airport. no hassles from anyone and your usually accompanied by many other spotters.
just thought i should mention it.
chris
Well nothing's dead down here, just a little tired

Hi Udo!
I will probably be at LAX the second weekend in September for a family function so will be able to meet up then.
I agree that In-N-Out and Imperial are the best places for spotting.
Take Care

The parking lot behind the Proud Bird Restaurant (Aviation and 111th) is pretty good, as well.

Udo; I can probably pick you up in Norwalk. Only about a ten minute drive from LAX.
Looking forward to see you again and hopefully some new peple too.

Sounds like a plan. One weekend, I'll take a ride out from Riverside in the Cobra Convertible and we'll have a good time. Then, we can all caravan down to either SNA or ONT.

I live in Ventura County, the same region where AirxLiban lives (I've never met him though).
If a meeting is to occur, I might be interested in attending. Mind you, I've never been plane spotting in my life, I normally just look at the pictures of the aircraft in books, or look at them through the terminal windows when I travel...
BTW this meeting had better not be of the sort engaged in by the other LAX spotters club (mentioned in the Non Av forum) .

I guess it's still to early to choose a certain day. But as soon as I have arrived Michel and I will talk and then announce the meeting day on the forum! I think it will take place in the week between Sept.4 and 10.
