Can Someone Explain This Flyi Fare Issue

Here is a discrepancy with a FLYI fare...

Price JAX-JFK for August 1... cheapest fare is $194 o/w sold through. If you price the markets separate JAX-IAD $69 first flight of the morning connecting to ANY one of the hourly flights IAD-JFK an additional $49... total fare $118 ONE WAY.

Seems that their tier structure has a snag? OR did they mean to have non-transparent fares like the legacies?
