Why No US Airlines Have 74M's

Why do no US airlines operate 74M's. Are there regulations involved that make uneconomical to run. I see KL, KE, 5E operating them here to the US, but why not US carriers such as NW or UA?

Most US airlines would rather use the 747 for high-density passenger routes. In NWA's case, they have a dedicated cargo fleet, so additional cargo on a 747 is not necessary. UAL needs the room for passengers as well.
