I just booked a trip to San Juan for a long weekend in August with my boyfriend and we're flying JetBlue from JFK to SJU. I know the DirectTV does not work on flights to Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic, but can someone describe JetBlue experiences to and from the Caribbean from JFK? What's it like? Service? Flight Crew? Cabin Comfort?

Hey there. It is the same service as other JetBlue flights, beverages, and complimentary snacks. Soads, juice, water, coffee, tea. Beer, Wine, and Liquor available for purchase. Snacks consist of Blue Chips, Doritos Muchies Mix, Chocolate Chip Biscotti, Animal Crackers, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Smoked Almonds. Maybe you will get one of the planes that has the FOX Movies installed. I flew on on the other day from JFK to FLL, was great, watched Moulin Rouge.

Why no direct TV on that flight to San Juan and Dominican Republic? Probably boring on the flight.

The service is great- just like any other flight on any other airline. The snacks are standard (same as the domestic flights). The TV will work for a little while, at which time the PPV channels will kick on, free of charge. It's not too long of a flight, though- only 4 1/2 hours or so. I, personally, don't really need the TV once the water turns a light blue. That alone is entertainment  Big grin.

No, not at all. The airline is retrofitting the fleet with Pay-Per-View channels, for movies on domestic flights. On international flights to SJU, BQN, STI and SDQ, the pay-per-view channels are free of charge. The DirecTV doesn't work on over water flights, obviously. B6 had to find a solution, if you will. They did just that.

The reason no TV over the water is that they cannot get a signal for the TV's, that is why JetBlue has opted to being the installation of the FOX Movies..

Have a great time in Puerto Rico (my home country), enjoy your flight on B6 (my bestfriends boyfriend just flew on them into SJU and he said it was a great flight). Im biased towards AA on this route since they fly the A300 on it and I have a long endearing relationship with the bus. As a note of caution avoid visitng beaches on the south coast since there is a surge of meningitis along these towns (Patillas to Ponce- my hometown), and presumably it started to spread in the Patillas Beach . The north coast of the island hasnt reported any cases as of yet which is were most tourist go to, so if your staying in San Juan you shouldnt even worry about that .
Have fun in Puerto Rico
