Just heard that AA was canceling flights for the next six hours. Anyone know why and how big of an impact this is? Are we talking dom and intl? Does this also affect eagle? I think it is a computer failure but I am not sure whose comp failure it is.

Where did you hear this?

My mom is at ORD now and she said nothing about this matter.

AA computer system went down. Here at DFW planes have been sitting in the hold pad since 5:55am. All flights are ground stopped until the computer system comes back up. Bad day to fly AA today. Hopefully they will get this problem fixed soon.

Just heard that the computers just came up. Hopefully AA can catch back up I guess they are running a 3 hr delay on the East coast and a 2 hr delay in the Central time zone.

Sheesh...funny how things work out...I got bumped off a US Airways flight (648, LAS-PHL) last night, they wanted to put me on American through MIA, and I would have been stuck in this mess...I had a hotel room for another night, however, so I told them to move my protection to the next morning...I'm currently waiting to hopefully be bumped from US 602 (LAS-PIT), although it is only oversold by 4 people, they tell me...then again, 4 people, plus a few American fims, and it does add up...
