Although I really don't like the idea of MX getting them (because of operational issues), you might see an A318 painted in Mexicana colors before this year ends...

Im also against MX lease of the A318s. I think it would have been better to order 10 extra A319s. If cost for operations is equal to the A319 and you got 20 more seats then get the A319!
Answearing to the first MX A318s will start to get here by the end of October. First flight of the A318 in MX is schedule for November, 1st, 2004. (Ive heard rumors and perhaps will wear a special c/s).......

If I'm not mistaken America West has converted their A318 orders over to A319. IMO the chances of seeing the A318 in other colors is as about the as seeing the 717 in different colors, slim.

America West are not the only airline to convert A318 orders to other A320 family aircraft, BA had a whole lot on order which they subsequently swapped . A shame, it seems the market for A318/717 sized aircraft is very small, better left to the EMB190 size. The 318 is a good performer, Frontier seem to very happy with theirs.

According to Airbus, the following airlines have A318s on order:
Air France
America West
Frontier
Tarom
Although... I'm not sure what the status of the America West A318s is...
HP is N O T going to add the A318 to its fleet. This is confirmed for sure.....by the CEO Mr. Douglas Parker himself. He has already did this long ago and converted them to A319/20 aircraft. Sorry folks, but the A318 in HP livery ain't gonna ever happen.....
