What is the difference between ER (Extended Range) and LR (Long(er) Range)? Only Boeing uses these terms.

There is only one LR Boeing model, which is longer range than the ER, which is longer range than the normal model.

Pretty straightforward. The capabilities for each model differ per platform.

I believe that the ER is achieved by doing very little changes, and mostly just within the computer and in certification. The LR represents major changes to an aircraft and actual engineering changes being made so that the aircraft has an entirely different use.... Hope I was able to explained it somewhat understandable, and I could be completely wrong Who Knows!!!

Only Boeing uses these terms

I believe that Bombardier also use these terms. Follow this link and read the "HISTORY" section.
