I just got emailed our June 2004 passenger numbers, and they continue a trend that's been developing all year.

MSY's June enplanements were 422,242, up 8.4% over 2003
June deplanements were 428,992, up 10.1% over 2003
2004 year-to-date enplanements were 2,529,610, up 7.8% over 2003
2004 year-to-date deplanements were 2,516,933, up 7.6% over 2003
2004 total passengers were 5,046,543, up 7.7% over 2003

Being that these are 6 month figures, it would appear that we will clear 10 million pax for the year for the first time.

WN has a 30.7% market share out of MSY, DL is next with 12.7%, AA with 12.0%, CO 10.0%, and UA with 8.7%

Cool.. here at RDU (fron Triangle Business Journal, 7/12/2004)...

RDU posted almost 2.03 million passengers through the first six months of 2004, compared to less than 2 million in the same period a year ago.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport increased 6.8 percent in the first half of 2004.

June traffic increased to 396,224 last month, up 7.1 percent from the 370,063 recorded in June 2003.

Southwest Airlines was the airport's top major carrier last month, with 64,380 enplaned passengers. Delta Airlines was second with 54,345 passengers, while American came in third with 49,643.

We won't meet the 10 million mark this year, but we will be in the low to mid 8 mil mark! Not bad for a non-hub medium airport! Looking forward to B6 and F9 at RDU!

Aiming High and going far..

WN 30.7%
DL 12.7% + ASA 1.6% + Chautauqua 1.3% + Skywest 0.3% + Comair 0.2% = 16.1%
AA 12.0% + Trans States 0.3% = 12.3%
CO 10.0% + CO Ex 0.7% = 10.7%
UA 8.7% + ACA 0.0% (970 pax total) + Air Wisconsin 1.4% = 10.1%

WN kicking butt and taking names around here.

....be nice if they'd actually take up the remaining gates in their terminal though. Have they even dropped hints as to when they plan to expand their post-PHL?

Anywho, speaking of expansion, how's it looking on the routes/carrier front Tombo? I'd imagine that they're still going after AS and some LatAm carriers, no?
