I find it incredible to read some of the stuff posted on this site. I know there is generally good intention on the part of the participants but sometimes we have just got to stop for a second and THINK!!! There is a recent post wondering if Boeings exclusive contracts are legal!!! Of course they are legal!!! The EU didn't like them because Airbus was not a prospective vendor to these major accounts but to question if Boeing, a New York Stock Exchange Listed company and one of the world's largest manufacturers, employers, and exporters is openly defying the law in deals with American, Continental, and Delta is ABSOLUTELY PREPOSTERSOUS. These deals were openly discussed and it was NO SURPRISE to anyone. And make no mistake, if Airbus can cut the same deal, they will!!!! I apologize if my language seems strong but there has to be some sanity in some of these postings otherwise we will sound like children.

P.S.-Even if Boeing was going to illegally deal billions of dollars in the form of hundreds of aircraft (I think someone might notice), do you seriously think American Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Delta Airlines, themselves publicly traded companies, would be part of such a conspiracy?!

i was going to write the same responce as navion but then figured i would be wasting my time... with all due respect to the writer of that posted question... if it is not that question, it will be another down the road just as illogical. (not necessarily from that person) thank you navion for saving my finger tips.

Well in an earlier post I think I suggested to Tad to read Birds of Prey, for a different reason though, but seriously its not my favorite aviation book in the world but if you want to know all about the politics that goes into the airliner industry its amazing what government, including US, officials will do to get an airplane order!
When Airbus complained about the exclusive contracts all it did was humiliate Boeing in front of the entire world!

It makes my heart sing, seeing that there are still adults in this forum who want to talk about the realistic part of the aviation business.
As all here above said, thank you Navion for stating what we think as well, and saving us the time to write it.

Listen Navion Dude, if I have a question then I will ask that question. If it may sound stupid to you, okay, but remember not evertone knows as much about all of this as you do. This is whhat this forum is for, asking questions and getting responces. If the question seems stupid, skip it. It was a question, not a statement and so I was not trying to give misinformation or anything. Call me stupid if you have too but I will keep posting questions if I want to know something I do not yet know. So cool down a bit will you (all of you).
