Do any ATL residents/travelers know when the Renaissance Concourse Hotel (Then called the Stouffer Concourse Hotel) was built? On the website it said that the rooms were newly renovated, but I cannot find any pics of it from the 80s or early 1990s. Can anyone provide any info. It is a great spotting place to photograph or watch planes from.

The hotel indeed started life as the Stouffer Concourse. It was completed ca. 1993. I stayed there in the summer of '93, which I believe was just after its grand opening. Been back many times since. Darn fine place to hole up for a night or two, provided you get a room on the south side.

Gnomon, Thanks for the info. So the first time I stayed there it was celebrating its 10th anniversary. COOL! It is a GREAT place to be as long as you are on the south side. I prefer the High Floors, but always seem to get a room on either the 3rd or 5th floors. I have had 512 once, and 326 twice.
