hey all,

just a question for whoever may know.

i friend of mine was driving passed the boeing facility in LGB and of course for most that know its the home of the B717. well, what he saw was something that made him wonder. he saw a plane inside the hanger and was wondering how they got the plane to the airport side of operations. (one side of Lakewood Blvd the Boeing facility is on the LGB airport property, the other side is right across from Lot D parking lot is another part of the facility w/ hangers. thats where he saw the plane). i told him they probably build the fusalage and truck it over to the airport side. but he swears that he saw a pretty much complete plane...wings and all. so it got me wondering too how the plane gets to the airport side. there's nothing much streets there unless they have some kind of underground tunnel  Laugh out loud j/k.

Hopefully i explained it well. if anyone can help that'll be great! THANX

To me, THIS IS MY SAYING NOT FACT, it looks as though any way everything is attached to another by taxi ways. I see no streets here or there. And if it was in a hanger, well, hangers are meant to hold a/c, the one's with wings so maybe you have you're map a bit off? I wouldn't know I don't live down there!

Hope this helps!

Thanks again!

Did you ever watch Star Trek? Well, at Douglas, they have secret transporter
technology.

Just kidding!

They move the airplane in the off hours.

At LGB facility, they will hold up traffic on Lakewood Blvd and then tow the plane across the street to the west side.
