According to many here, if DL breaks the contract with ACA which they are doing because of the pilot union and Independence Air being considered whatever the contract considers it DL has to assume the leases on the FRJ's.

Yep this has been known for some time now. Last I heard Skyway was supposed to take over operations as of November 1st. Frankly, Skyway can barely handle their Beech/328Jet flying right now.....so I'm not sure how this will work out in the future. Anybody want a job at CVG??? No thanks I'll pass.
EDIT: Delta did break the contract....hence Skyway assuming the DoJet operation out of CVG. BTW....good to see you again TechRep!!!

B4real, I agree.
Ushermittwoch, I've noticed that the FRJ has been slowly taken out of the SBN (South Bend, IN) schedules to be completely removed by Oct/Nov replaced by Comair, they've also added 2 daily CR7's on top of the CRJ's that will replace the FRJ's, I'm not sure about other routes. I believe they've also added another flight or two from ATL to add the the 3 already.

I looked at CVG skeds into NOvermber and many of the DO328 routes have been changed to ERJ from Chautauqua...So the rumor of YXConnect using some of them could be true.
If DL goes into bankruptcy, will that no change the scope of this entire transaction.. READ -"go to hell ACA! (and your silly little leases ,too!)

We are getting 10 of them on 01Nov when we take over for ACA out of CVG. With further arrivals as the contract and routes grow. We will take over the majority of the routes at the end of the ACA contract. But as of right now there are no plans by DL to operate them to other DLC partners. Considering there would be a greater expense to train the crews on an additional a/c type than to all ready provide them to a carrier that is currently operating the type and has the staffing to handle the a/c.

Yep....it seems AirTran737 has some correct info on Skyway operating 10 DoJets for ther own ops. Not sure yet whether they will open up new stations or eliminate some Beech flying. There's also speculation they might 'wet lease' crews to operate the Delta Connection flying. We'll see.....

I was out with the new CVG chief pilot from Skyway, and the ALPA MEC Chairman the other night for some dinner. Bill Huffman who is the new chief pilot started his career with Skyway, then went to DL as a flight engineer on the 727. He then move to being an FO on the MD-80. After 9-11 he was furloughed, and went to Sunking on the 727. Now he's back at Skyway, and was taking his oral for the 328 Jet yesterday morning. He seems to have a very straight forward way of thinking, which will be good for the pilots that he is overseeing.
Nice Trip Report!!! Great Pics, thanks for posting!!!! B747Forever
