World Air Leasing, an american company has recently complied with GCAA requirements and obtained a Gambian AOC. They plan to start operation with a L1011 and add a B747-200 later. The aircraft has been secured, however my source is not in a position to comment where it comes from. Can anybody shed more light on this.

Looks a little fishy, notice there are no pics of their fleet, only stock photos? Sounds like another 'paper' carrier if you ask me. I seem to remember reading on this forum that a new startup African carrier was suppose to begin flights to Banjul and Port Harcourt from IAH last year sometime. Suffice it to say nothing more was ever heard.

They advertised for a Director Maintenance to be based in Gambia. The resume is to be directed to Eagle air Charter, an affiliate of World air leasing and they do have a fleet. So there is some positive movement.
