When having lunch, I saw from my apartment (direct view to the airport from rosales) after almost 3 years of white planes and butterflies, the AV red Fokker 50, she was taking-off from ELDORADO, . It made me remember the old days....hope she isnt painted any soon, do you know if she will be?

RCS763av, this Fokker50 (my favorite a/c), was stored in ElDorado in it's ,original c/s, after two years of inactive life, this little bird reopen it's services to AV, and if AV didn't decided to paint it in these ugly c/s, maybe we have a chance that the fleet will be painted again in the red c/s, or in other red paint scheme, but also nice.
Some pictures of this victorious livery and of course, aircraft:

I'll have to agree with you on this one ACES320. The red scheme, being the livery/concept behind which AV became what it once was, it's now outdated.

In the remote event that AV does get to change the image soon (and if they want to return to a scheme based on red) it's more than obvious that a whole new fresh design (more curvy and dynamic) would be needed.

RCS763av:
They stored the a/c because in that time they didn't needed more Fokker50's to cover all AV routes, and now that they are again simply AV, they need more a/c to make all their domestic timetables.

Well i'm not sure if the scheme is ouddates (altougth i like it) but they could base on the red to make a new livery...but anyway i'm not sure if they have the money to pain again all the planes.......

My vote goes to the red color scheme. Thought the 707 and 747 looked great. I actually had the opportunity to fly the Fokker from Bucaramanga to BOG, loved it.

My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

Be sure that sooner or later they'll have to change it. The most logical thing is to expect the new image when they're financial situation is better and when they exit Ch.11, which will give them more freedom to start new routes and make certain modifications.

Just as United's case with their past gray/blue scheme, AV's butterfly scheme reminds people of a not so belle époque which will only be burried for good with a new paintjob.

I think a slightly modernised version of the classic red livery should be re-introduced in the future, but its good to see that, apart from one F50, they have a uniform livery across the fleet:

For AV would be great to see another red c/s, not necesary the red outdated one, but can be a more actualized one.

yes the red livery is outdated... but I think they must take a look to KLM.

For me the old KLM livery was outdated to.. and they changed it into a good way with the same colors, now it is one of the best around the world.
Personally I hope that AV will do the same... the red colors like the new KLM livery.... I think it would be better! Can you imagine how it would be??

What? Boy they should put a grammar check down the page too.

Wimpycol,

I agree that KLM went from a not-so-hot livery, to a classy scheme, and that is considering I'm very far from being a fan of that cradle turquoise that KLM wears.

Good to see you here again.
