My mom is going from EWR-LON-CDG-PVG-EWR on business in October and she basically picks her airlines and submits it to her companies travel agent and they put her on the flights. She is OnePass Elite and would prefebly like to stay with CO or a CO partner airline for the whole trip. Does anyone know if CO will be part of Sky Team by then
Her criteria is the quickest possible and not the most scenic route like mine would be.
What would you reccomend on the Europe to PVG sector and also the PVG EWR sector. She can do CDG or LON in any order.

I was thinking:
EWR-LGW (CO)
LHR-CDG (AF)
CDG-PVG (AF)
PVG-NRT or HKG (not sure which airline)
NRT or HKG-EWR (CO)
This routing would be if CO is part of Sky Team by then.
Otherwise I'm not really sure. I know you could also do the Europe to PVG on VS from LHR so that is an option as well

Thanks for all your help!!
Dave

I know that KLM and NW will be joining in September, but a date has neither been set nor rumored for CO.

CO has a list of its airline partners here: http://www.continental.com/onepass/earn/airline/default.asp.

She could easily do VS/CO to London, and then perhaps VS to NRT and then take a flight over to PVG. I am sure that something similar could also be worked out on Eva, KLM, and possibly Emirates. She could go back to the states "the back way", i.e. VS from NRT-LHR-NYC.

Doing a trip on just OnePass members for the most part depends on how much she or her company is willing to spend. It might be best to do as much as she can on OnePass members, but enroll in another airlines' FFP for the routes that do not qualify on OnePass.

For this trip, she might be interested in joining SkyMiles on Delta, as they have many partners, including quite a few Asian partners: http://www.delta.com/skymiles/getmiles/airline_partners/index.jsp.

Once CO is in SkyTeam, she could easily accumulate CO miles on the DL account and then "bank out" or continue using SkyMiles, as SkyMiles has many more partners than CO.

She could easily accumulate CO, VS, and AF miles, as well as on one of the Chinese airlines.
