Hello to all

I was just remebering a time not so many years ago when Northwest had a respectable mainline presence at TYS (Knoxville, TN). It seemed DC9s flew daily to DTW and MEM. If you look at today's schedule its all CRJ service except for one flight on the Avro 85. What happened here, and how is the present Airlink service holding out today?

Thanks

That's today's Northwest. Most of the smaller cities are now relegated to feeder carriers.

RJs are the most common a/c at TYS, with the exception of DL's MDs. NW has 1 ARJ flight a day. There will be 2 of them in November. Last time NW flew DC9s to TYS, as regular service, was in Jan-Feb 2004.

From time to time we get a DC9 here when it needs to refuel on FNT-FLL (I believe).

Does this happen often? I would think they would want to use a jet with longer legs.

QUICKMOVER...The FNT-FLL is Saturday only. I have taken that flight, three times and no fuel stop was need. Once, the plane was close to 100 per cent full.
I have never flown that leg northbound.
safe

I saw an NWA DC9 here in TYS landing once. I was driving down the Alcoa Hwy at that time going to pick up a buddy of mine at TYS.

I did not know what to think of it until someone else posted here at a.net that those DC9 have to make refuel stops here in TYS. OK, I found it http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/1355326/
