The VS 09/10 into and out of JFK on Friday 13th was cancelled. Does anyone know why?

V-Flyer shows that G-VAEL (340-300) operated VS009/VS010: http://www.v-flyer.com/aircraft.asp?flight=G-VAEL&search=yes.

Safetydue

I know for a fact that it didn't. It was on its way and returned to London, from what I heard. I know for a fact that it didn't arrive since pax were reproed to other airlines

That would explain (amongst other reasons) why the return flight was "assumed". I cannot find anything on any news sources or on the VS forums, which are usually up-to-date on that type of stuff.

from what I heard
I would go back to that source and ask.

Perhaps someone from VS could help out?  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I did go back to VS. My contact doesn't know why. There were 4 flights on Saturday instead of the usual 3. The 4th flight was VS110 and it was sent to deal with the left over pax from friday's canxd flight

Aerofan

In fact G-VAEL did operate but about 22hrs late! It was planned to operate the VS9 on schedule on 13th but the a/c went tech and there was nothing else available, so operated the following day when it was serviceable and the crew were back in hours.

Cheers
