Hi everyone.

I'm a bit curious on how I can reach ORF from LAX because it seems that there will be no direct flights. Does anyone know a good low cost route. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can fly on US Airways for around $198. You have to connect through either PHL, PIT or CLT.

Well Southwest airlines flies to Norfolk from BWI, Las Vegas, Jacksonville, and Orlando. So you could take Southwest from LAX to LAS then on to Norfolk.

Thanks! Although it might not be that cheap since I'm flying on Sept 8th.

Southwest offers a one-stop through Baltimore LAX-BWI-ORF

Southwest also offers a one-stop from San Diego SAN-LAS-ORF

Norfolk has a fairly high level of service for a smallish medium-sized city. Most major airline hubs have a few daily flights a piece. And it is not like LAX is lacking for service either.

AirTran from Los Angeles through Atlanta to Newport News (just 23 miles from Norfolk) is only $124.

Sounds like a great deal. But I looked it up and it's a red eye flight that arrives 30 minutes before an interview I have scheduled at 10! So it looks like US is going to win out. Thanks for your help!

Don't forget United... you have your choice of LAX-IAD-ORF or LAX-ORD-ORF.
