How are they doing in their first (almost) 2 months of operation? Thanx for the replies. Flights to BOG, CCS and LIM.

LIM doesn't start until later in the Fall--

My wife has flown the CCS YYZ several times and it has been quite full, over-sold on a couple of occasions. AC has gotten some very good press in Venezuela and I think should do well on the YYZ CCS route.

I don't know first-hand how YYZ BOG is doing, but I imagine pretty well. It is currently operated with an A319--however AC is going to shortly upgrade it to a much larger 762--so I assume the route is doing well.

AC is well positioned for connecting traffic from latinAM to Europe and Asia. There is quite a bit of direct service from latinAmerica directly to Europe, but if somebody had to connect it would be much better to do so via AC YYZ rather than Miami.

And YYZ has outstanding flight connections to Asia, including new HKG non-stop service, and exisiting YYZ NRT non stops--so someone in CCS, LIM, BOG, EZE GRU or SCL and others could be in HKG or NRT with only one connection via YYZ.

Anyway I think AC will do well on these routes to latin America, I know they see a lot of potewntial and hope to build it up. Cheers,

Is AC flying once or twice daily to MEX from YYZ? And is it using A319's or 767's?

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

YYZ-BOG has been kinda full also, and they have gotten many press here in colombia. A friend is arriving today on AC from Vancouver, and she told me her flight to YYZ was kinda full, only like 8 seats left.

So far, only one frecuency MEXYYZ and it is scheduled for a B767. But you never know when they might send an A319.

Thanks HPA320. By the way, does anybody know if AC's codeshare with MX is going to continue or if they will not renew it after it expires?

I know, it's just that somebody mentioned some months ago that the codeshare agreement was going to expire soon and that AC was uncertain about extending it for various reasons. I can only think that one of such reasons is that MX is now codesharing on some AA U.S.-Canada flights and that probably doesn't make AC very happy.

According to the reservation systems, the a/c type for Toronto-Bogota has switched back to the A319 for the winter. It had been programmed as a 767. I have heard that AC would require to bring back some 767 from storage. Perhaps this has not been finalised.

Well, I always thought the 767 for BOG was kinda exaggerated (even for range problems with the 319).

RCS763av--I think you underestimate the loads and the potential--

And travelers are now quitting/avoiding MIA in droves so YYZ is a very feasible connecting point from BOG to Europe or Asia.

Lots of Mexicans used to fly to MAD with AC via YYZ so as to (i) pay a cheaper fare in comparison to AM or IB's fares, and (ii) avoid MIA or any other U.S. airport for purposes of connecting. Too bad that AC dropped MAD. Should it come back, you would see lots of Mexicans in the YYZ-MAD leg.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Well, there is a lot of potential, but changing from 120 to 180 seats is a lot dont you think? Maybe in some months when the market evolves...but its true, people are not using US airports anymore to go to Canada, not only MIA, but IAH, EWR, JFK, ATL and FLL.

RCS763av--it's a good point you make as to the extra seats in lower season--but I understand the original plan was to upgrade to a 762 in higher season and maybe revert to the 319 in lower.

EddieDude, I agree I knew several people who flew to MAD from MEX on AC via YYZ. I think you will see YYZ MAD re-instated, it was not canceled but suspended I think largely due to equipment availability. With these many new latin american destinations I think you will see AC resume MAD from YYZ.

Thanks for the clarification Cayman. It is good to hear that the flight has not been cancelled, especially because AC is consistently mentioned as one of the best trans-Atlantic carriers.

I cross my fingers for the 767. I'd love to see that aircraft down in BOG. By the way, since I've been out of the country for more than 8 months what is the schedule? What time the flights arrive, depart on what days?

Cheers.

ACES320--the sked is as follows:

YYZ-BOG We/Fri/Su Dep YYZ 1555 Arr BOG 2120 local
BOG-YYZ Th/Sat/Mo Dep BOG 925 Arr YYZ 1645 local

As can be seen the a/c and crew overnight in BOG. The times are well positioned for connectivity to Europe too.

Cheers,
