We all know how AS and QX are owned by the Alaska Air Group and both airlines are happy and operating independantly, etc etc...

But I got to ask...With AA buying out TW with promises (not sure if thats true) to retain the TW brand but later decided to slowly remove the TW brand quietly. Why didn't AA allow TW to operate independantly but under the ownership of AMR in the way that Alaska Air Group operates AS and QX?

Can anyone explain this to me with facts, not speculation or heated arguments, please? Why did AA secretly and quietly removed the TW brand from the a/c?
