While looking through the schedules, I noticed AirTran begins Saturday-only nonstop service between PIT and FLL effective Nov. 20.
With recent additions, AirTran has nearly doubled the size of its operation at PIT. In addition to the new FLL service, AirTran will add fifth and sixth daily flights to ATL effective Oct. 5. They will also add a second daily flight to MCO effective Nov. 4. All flights will be on 717-200 aircraft.

Any info on any of the non-US carriers increasing frequency at PIT? I'd really like to see AirTran make a comeback here.
Thus far...
- AirTran has increased service as mentioned in the thread-starter.
- Northwest began twice daily flights to MEM last Monday (Aug. 16). Both flights on CRJ's.
- Midwest is adding a third flight to MKE effective Sept. 8. The new flight will be operated by Skyway on the FRJ.
- United is starting twice daily service to DEN effective Oct. 4. Both flights on 737-300's.

Looks like as US winds down, FL and carriers like it ramp up.
Good for FL, good for PIT. Bad for US.
Those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it in summer school.

With all the latest flight additions anyone see any other rumors of certain airlines adding flight? And any idea on what the next new carrier to FLL will be?
