I cannot confirm what you said about the transport system at CIA. I have flown there two weeks ago and was really surprised. As an EasyJet customer you can book a bus transfer from CIA to the central station of Rome (Stazione Termini) for only 13.50 € including return.
However, you have still the opportunity to take the local Bus to the station of Ciampino where a train drives you to Stazione Termini within 20 mins.
If you are well organised you can make it even faster to the city of Rome than from FCO I think.

Airblue - I would certainly not call CIA's transport system "bad" for it is exceedingly easy to catch the airport bus (which seems to meet the arriving planes) and get to downtown Rome (Termini) in about 40 minutes. It's very convenient and simple, and only 10 minutes longer than getting from FCO to the same station by train.
As for BVA - there was a report on a TV channel a couple of years ago about 3 people flying to ORY, CDG and BVA with the sole intention of seeing who could reach central Paris (a specific tourist site) in the shortest possible time using public transport. Believe it or not, but the person flying FR into BVA got there the quickest! And that's no rubbish. The explaination, I guess, is, in part, due to BVA being tiny and so it's easy to find the right bus and be on your way without any hanging around, unlike navigating yourself around the maze at CDG.

I call CIA public transport system bad because when you left Rome downtown to go to the airport if you use airlines busses (ie. Terravision) you have to reach Termini station at least 2 hour and 30 minutes before you flight depart time. That's a big waste of time for an airport located 16 km south.
I my case when I'm in Rome if I use public transport it's easy to reach FCO where you could chose to leave from all the train stations. (no stop train from Termini or metro train from all the other stations with a train every 15 minutes).
