I started a thread on the photo discussions, but probably should have put it here....
According to the NW online timetable, and the OAG, NW is starting A-330 PDX-NRT flights September 1st. Earlier than planned? I believe it's the first visit of a 330 to PDX. NRT - PDX arrival 8:10am; departure to NRT 1:45pm.

I was there and I must say that aircraft is absolutely beautiful! I'm really grateful that Northwest has included PDX in it's expansion plans to Asia. Keep up the good work NWA!

goodness, there are about 15 A332 @ PDX threads, all jumbled.
Someone was looking to meet up Sunday, and the info we had was it was coming in from MSP around noon on Sunday.

So, not sure if it's too late, but I'm going to be at the top of the parking garage, on the 10L side, around 10:30/11am.
If anyone wants to hang out and shoot the good word while waiting for this bird, come on down.
Greyish Nissan Fronteir Crew Cab, "Oregon Sailing" sticker on the back window.
Introduce yourself and yeah, hope this bird is still coming in then.

8:10AM arrival and 1:45PM departure. It seems like the plane sits idle for a long time. Does anyone think it could do a turn somewhere in that timeframe? Or is there nowhere NW could go from there.

hum.......wasn't planning to stay that long, but shoot, I may have to be.
don't have a great camera, but was looking to take some shots of her in the first few days at PDX.
Looks like your shots were from Marine drive or someplace on the perimeter.

ok, well, I'm going to plan to be there at 11am, and if my sched. holds up, won't leave until she departs. Not sure if it will all work out, but here's to hoping.

If you're talking about the pics I posted, yes, they were along Marine Drive.
Or maybe I've got it wrong and you're talking about pics traded through email.
Either way, great to see the big bird here. I would come up there today if I didn't have other plans. There's also a group of five F-18's that are here. I haven't checked there group number yet, but their markings say VFA-201. They took off for Whidbey Island yesterday, right after the NW Airbus heavy left.
