Hi Guys,

I see that alot of the Transjet Airways AB MD80's are still in storage in Marana and Tuscon.

I believe thery are owned by Finova Capital Group.

Anyone know what the status is of these aircraft and how much they are to be either leased or sold for.

They were nice machines, had their problems but with th right tlc...they would have been great.

Hope someone can help me out here.

Many thx

If i remember rightly, if you travelled with them, you were lucky to get to the destination you were going to before you had to come home again. Yes, it was that bad!

Planesarecool,

That's right, even if the aircraft got off the ground, you were lucky. A lot of the flights had massive delays. I worked in a travel agents that lucky season when Goldensun were using them. Most customers wouldn't book the holiday if they knew the flight was with them. One cabin crew was sacked for refusing to fly due to the condition of the aircraft and knew it didn't comply with safety standards.

Thx for the replies guys,

I know about the reliablility of them as i used to work on them and must say that iw wasnt so much of the tech problems that...there weren't that many to be honest.

It was the bad planning of the programme with the aircraft and crew not in the right place at the right time.

ie: lgw-rho on se-rbt but was also meant to do a ncl-rho a few housr later.

they took on a big programme that they couldnt cope with.

what i really want to know is whats happening with the aircraft now and how much they were leased or sold for.

many thx
