UA ORD-IAD 1994 Tristar Or DC-10?

In March 1994, a friend (and fellow A.netter) and I (along with nearly the entire eigth grade class of our school) set out on a trip from IAH-ORD-IAD to visit the nation's capitol. The recollections of my friend and I differ. I seem to remember the ORD-IAD segment being an L1011, he remembers it being a DC-10. Does anyone know which scenario is more likely? I actually hope he is right, as I flew a DL L1011 ATL-SJU once, but have never flown on a DC-10 (unless this flight happened to be one). Thanks for any info y'all might have

I'm CERTAIN it would have been a DC-10.

UA did operate L10-11's for a very short time, acquired from Pan Am in the Pacific route purchase, but to the best of my knowledge, UA never operated them domestically. It was in the Pacific, and specifically MNL and TPE.

The L1011s were long gone by 1994. You flew on a DC10..

Caution wake turbulence, you are following a heavy jet.

Ok..I did find an April 94 OAG.

Ord to IAD on UA widebodies
I show UA 492 from ORD at !0 50AM as a DC 10. After April 11, it departs ORD at 11am.
I show UA 910 from ORD at 1 35pm as a 747.
I show UA 882 from ORD at 5 pm as a 747.
Hopefully this will help solve your flight.
safe

The Tristars were out of the fleet by 1988, I believe.

It is impossible for you to have been on the Lockheed bird.

Thanks. Am very happy to learn that I've been on a DC-10. 10 years does tend to fog the memory a bit. Guess I owe my friend a drink
