NZ1001 was a ferry flight from AKL to LAX. It has since departed LAX as NZ6004 to ARA where it will spend the next two weeks being repainted.
The flight, a Boeing 747-400, departed LAX for ARA at 1325 local time and is en route.
The aircraft involved is ZK-NBT.
Cheers!

Safety Dude, I believe NZ1001 did not carry any passengers aboard. Perhaps NZ1 can verify this for me.
Also, NZ1, I have been trying to confirm with our NZ LAX Airport station managers whether or not ZK-NBV will simply be repainted or painted with the newly announced names/images of New Zealand. Have you heard if indeed ZK-NBV will be the first NZ 744 to receive this scheme? I was told it was only going to be a simple repaint, but I hope my sources are wrong.
Cheers,

I thought the first new repaint of the images of New Zealand would be introuduced on the first B744 that is rolled out of the AKL hanger with the new cabins

NZBlue and 777ER,
ZK-NBT's ferry flight did not have passengers no. Just cargo and crew. When NBT comes back to LAX it will swap out with NBV which is having the fuselage only repainted, in our normal livery. NBV is only being repainted due to the paint damage caused by the removal of the LOTR decal, and associated corrosion. At this stage, the images being applied to the forward fuselage are just 2 metre decals, which will be applied during scheduled 'A' and '2A' checks. I don't know which aircraft will be the first yet, however I was told it will be towards the end of September. As soon as I know which aircraft it is , I will of course let you all know.
777ER, The first aircraft to receive the cabin upgrade will be ZK-SUJ during it's D check in May next year, followed by ZK-SUI on it's D check, then ZK-NBW. ZK-SUH is not having the cabin upgrade to it being retired in early 2006.

Sorry TG992, you are correct. I was planning my son;s birthday at the time, and admit my mind was elsewhere. SUI is indeed the first. ZK-NBT, you are right also, ZK-SUJ did have a D check just recently. I should proof read my posts more frequently.
