If the pilots don't agree by September 30th, according to the article, US might be forced to liquidate.  Sad I really hope that they can keep on flying and stay out of bankruptcy.

I hope they are near an agreement. This article doesn't really present any no info, however.

Where's US in regards to the other unions? Any pilot agreement is academic if the other unions don't hop on board.

Just because they're close to having what's called a TENTATIVE AGREEMENT (TA) doesn't mean they're out of the water. They union will probably, once the TA is signed, present the TA to the rank and file pilot group for their perusal and then they get to vote. Majority vote will pass the TA and it will be implemented.

Point being, this deal still has to make it through the voting hands of all the people who will again, take one for the team.

I especially like the strategically placed ATA ads at the bottom of the article.

There is nothing worse than hearing about the progress on negotiations through the media. So - take it with a grain of salt.

according to the philadelphia inquirer yesterday, many of the rank and file want an agreement more than their representatives in the union... could be interesting to see how this plays out.
