Hey all.

My sister wants to go to New York with her boyfriend and asked me if I could look for the cheapest fares. Also she asked me which airliners on this route are generally recommend because of IFE, nice service, (price?) etc.
The date: 23 - 30 October (or around these dates)

Thanks

Tjap

hey

I would recomend KLM if she wants go direct. Try to get her on a 777 flight great IFE great service and very nice seats.

you might want to try www.opodo.fr or www.opodo.com if you want to pay in GBP. For Euros got to the French.

i looked and the cheapast is on DL AMS-JFK and then going back JFK-CVG-AMS.

the fare is about 353.00 euros 253.00 GBP.

It is on a 763 which doesnt have great IFE.

There is also A Alitalia flight for about 600.00 with conection in MXP on 777 which had IFE.

I would go for Continental Airlines to EWR. CO Offers a nice 777-200ER service with good IFE and also excellent departure/arrival times. Also CO crew are extremely nice! Go for CO!

FWJH!

I think that all the airlines are dumping their fares so I don't see the use of travelling Biman when it saves you just a few bucks!

KLM's afternoon flight (KL641) is operated with the 777, great PVS-on-demand. CO also has the 777 on their EWR run so, if their fares are okay, just take a pick!
Ofcourse there's also DL's 767-300, or UAL might have a good offer via Washington D.C. or perhaps US via PHL. But if they have quite the same fares as KL/CO, then what's the use of a transfer?

I personally would prefer a connection, and being able to see more airports and be in different types of aircraft! For instance BA, flying a 777 and 747-400 over the pond, and out of Amsterdam you take the A320 and/or 737/Regional Jet! But I'm sure that's NOT what sis has in mind!

Or you could fly to LHR and take a VS flight which on the JFK route probably has V:Port

Me and my friends always took the SQ flight. Very cheap and perfect service. Last time I did it it was 199 euro's return.. That's a perfect weekend idea!

I think with the opening of the nonstop SIN-EWR SQ has dropped AMS-EWR on their AMS flights.... So they're just doing point-to-point SIN-AMS-SIN!

SQ from AMS to EWR was indeed the best. Pity they stopped it.

A girlfriend of mine flew AMS - EWR - AMS in April. She had nice experiences but she also always flies to SIN with SQ twice a year so she already knew SQ was nice.
But can somebody tell me something about VS's IFE?

Thanks,

Tjap
