I was driving by SFO at about 9:05 am this morning when I saw an EVA Air 744 departing rwy 28. I thought it was last night's BR17 that got delayed, but I checked their website and both BR27 and BR17 look normal.

I did some research on the net for you: What you saw was EVA flight 601 which landed at SFO at 4:54AM & departed for Taipei, Taiwan (RCTP) at 9:07AM. As I type it is at 33,000 feet & traveling at 612 MPH (groundspeed)
Looking for the flight # was a bit tricky. But you can find the rest of the above info at http://www.flytecomm.com/cgi-bin/trackflight. In the 'Search for flight' section select EVA & enter the flight as 601. There you go. Now you are a pro
Better watch the road and not the plane taking off. I've been yelled at by my wife many a times for rubber necking every time I pass SFO. Yes, that's right, every time. Ooops, that might as well be an advise to myself

It was actually EVA Cargo. I saw it parked over near the "G" pier this morning at about 7. Not sure why is was parked over near the "G" pier. I can only guess that the remote spot was taken by another carrier or there was a mechanical for it to depart so late.
