Is NZ6315 a delivery flight for an A320 or a special flight? It arrives in AKL @ 5.15pm today

Hmm.. I'm on a well-deserved holiday, but officially a flight numbered NZ6315 SHOULD be an International non revenue, positioning or planning service. Flight numbers 6000 to 6389 are set aside for that. International delivery flights have flight numbers 6390 to 6399 set aside for them.

Having said that, the Star A320 was supposed to be here around this time. So maybe it is.

I have friends in NZ, one of whom is a pilot for Mount Cook on ATR's. A quick mail to him revealed that the aforementioned flight was B744 ZK-NBV performing a 'local' AKL-AKL then went on its way to SFO as ANZ8 shortly after.

Hope that helps you!

Hi RobK,

That is correct. NBV was performing a quick test flight after its scheduled C check, due to having the pylons removed etc. Just a routine test flight that happens regularly after heavy maintenenace.
