I was looking up a phone number in the business white pages and grabbed one of the 5 different phone books that make it to my home. Got this one last month, and I flipped open the page and there was a listing (in the 2004 directory) for "Braniff International". I tried the number but it was busy. I threw it out since I figured that any phone book that listed a company that has been out of business for 20 years might not be all that accurate.

Isn't there a Braniff International that's involved in television stuff?

I've seen credits for them on the end of some show or other, and they even use a Braniff 727 in it!

Don't flame me for this, but I'm sure it's the finest cartoon show ever made (Futurama)

If I remember right I've also heard the Braniff 727 thing was on South Park.

For as long as I lived in El Paso, up until a few years ago, I saw Western Airlines listed with a local El Paso area number in the yellow pages under "Airlines". I saw that as recently as a year ago when I was in for a visit. So yeah, you're probably right that your phone book was referring to Braniff the airline.

Weird stuff.
