Luton Airport has just announced their passenger figures for August and handled 808,323 in August confirming their busiest month in history and during a rolling 12 month period the airport has handled in excess of 7million passengers.
I know August is the busiest time of year for passengers travelling on holiday etc...
With numerous new daily scheduled routes to be launched over the coming months these figures can only continue to rise and by this time next year could easily be touching 9/10million pax. This is phenominal growth!
The following routes are still to be launched during the next few months:

Good to see LTN expanding as well as STN... what is the status with extending the parallel taxiway? With so many new services, a full length parallel taxiway would really help increase runway usage.
Once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned forever skyward

800,000 passengers.......all crammed into one Ryanair 737!!!
Good to see Luton airport growing. Hopefully this will continue with a parallel runway, airbridges and more carriers.
On a side note (sorry to hijack thread). Saw a 4 engined aircraft fly over central luton a couple days ago on approach to LTN, wasn't a 747 or A340, looked like a 707 but had pretty large looking engines. If anyone has any info that would be good.

This is the baby you saw on Sunday! I was there and took this picture it was a Brisair DC-8 VP-BHM. That baby sure made some noise and took all the runway to stop and to take off!
