Uncle Roger is the columnist of Flight International's "Straight and Level" column. I enjoy this section and his passionate references to aircraft of days gone by. He has apparently been writing this column for at least some fifty years, so I would like to know more about him. Did he have a career in aviation, and how old is he now (or are there more than one Uncle Rogers)?

I suspect this name may be fictional and the column is written by one of the staff journalists. The Daily Telegraph in the UK has a similar irreverent column that goes by the name of "Peter Simple" - there have been three Peter Simples to my knowledge!!
I agree Uncle Roger is entertaining, sometimes the best bit of the mag.
