While departing from Toulouse, France......"Now is it a right turn or a left to New Zealand?"

Several of the NZ A320's have been delivered through Gander. Typical routing is through YQX-DEN-LAX-HNL.

If you search through the database, you'll find pictures of Air New Zealand A320's at DEN and LAX in 2004.

Depends if the runway is a northerly or southerly direction - either way means a possible left or right turn to Gander  Smile/happy/getting dizzy. However the shortest distance is over Asia, one supposes that the availability of refueling stops precludes going this direction.

It appears to me that going east may be the better option to get from Toulouse to Auckland. Jetstreams and such make to cut time off the trip until maybe going under the equator then nullifys the jetstream advantage. Fuel stops do seem to be few and far between.

Refueling stops may be the reason the smaller a320's are delivered to the west. YQX-DEN-LAX-HNL-NAN-AKL makes sense.

It is A320 ZK-OJH on it's delivery flight. And yes it is in Star Alliance colours. It is due into AKL at around 3.30am on the 13th of this month.

If I recall correctly, ZK-OJA went to AKL via Winnipeg so it is not uncommon to see them through CAnada on delivery flights.
