As if one ice ball was not enough at a garden party this week, it is now being reported in the Surrey News that another "Boeing Bomb" has fallen at Gatwick Airport today. This one struck a car in the south long term parking. The blue colored ice ball was the size of a portable TV and did 3,000 quid extensive damage to the automobile, destroying the windshield and top. BAA has offered to nullify the 127 quid parking bill to the owner.
If wishes were horses, a Tail Dragger I would fly...

The phenomenon is this:
The toilets on the big planes use a blue colored deodorant infused water to flush toilets while in flight. Occasionally, some of these holding tanks will develop a leak at the drain seal and water will seep out . At altitude, the temps are way below sub zero, hence ice forms. While the water keeps seeping out, it forms a big ice ball which breaks away and falls on people's stuff. On some aircraft, these large ice balls can form up in the wheel well area and when the gear is extended the ball falls out.
I hope this clarifies what is a "Boeing Bomb."

Hahaaa my my my. Thanks for the details. My theory was pretty much correct. All I can think of is the movie Joe Dirt. When he thought he found a meteor but it was just a big crap ball from the Space Shuttle. He was eating off it and and everything. Not to be gross but I am serious on the floor.

Being I work right around the corner from BOS, I am hoping my car gets hit with a Boeing bomb. I need to some major repair done on the body. I noticed on radar there is a 772 and 744 headed this way (in transit) so one can only hope for a blue baby boy to detail my vehicle.
