I was looking at the service map for UA and was curious as to what happened to the LAX-NRT service via UA? OR was there ever; for that matter? Also would UA ever do a LAX - HKG Service? Or ORD-HKG?

UA still has LAX-NRT as Flight#891. LAX-HKG is via NRT.

UA also serves ORD-HKG as Flight#895.

LAX-NRT operates daily with a 747-400. Funny you should mention HKK, becuase that is actually Hokitika, New Zealand. LAX-HKG, however, was flown daily with a 747-400 as flights 1/2 as part as the Round-the-World operation. ORD-HKG has been in service with a 747-400 for many, many years now.

Which route map were you looking at? On the web? Hemispheres?

LAX HKG was dropped after 11SEP. I was booked on that flight on 11SEP01 in F. Needless to say I didn't go!

Speaking of ORD-HKG, I suspect once AA starts operating this route UA is going to feel the pressure heat up  Big grin Aren't they serving there next year with a Boeing 777?

When they dropped the HKG flight, they closed their DEL station too. It used to be LAX-HKG-DEL. I have a friend who flies LH all the time now because she does business in India and had TONS of UA miles from that flight, which was the fastest way there
