Good news. How are they doing financially?

Maybe you can answer me another question? I am going to visit Oslo in October and will meet a friend that flies down from Bodo on Norwegian. He said that he is not booking a flight but just goes to the airport and asks for free seats. Is it true that- if any seats are free- they sell these seats for a very low price?
If not then I tell him to book a flight right now.

Any help is appreciated.

I do'nt think they have free flights, but they are a low cost carrier and have very cheap tickets. Maybe he know some crew that can fly him for free down to OSL?!

Finacially, they are doing better now. They have a lot of passengers and is Norway's number 2 carrier after SAS Braathens (SK/BU).

Thanks for the info. He does not mean free flights but obviously he thinks that he gets a much lower price if he books right at the airport.

We'll see I wish him good luck Big grin

Good to see that Norwegian is doing better!

Cheers,

Your friend living in Bodø is most likely a student below 32 years old or under 26 years old. If so you may buy a ticket at the airport the day of travel very cheap. You do get a confirmed seat and not flying Stand By. This offer is avialable on both Norwegian and SASBraathens.
If he's not a student or under 26 I would strongly suggest that he book his ticket now, in order to get a low fare ticket.

Hi

Yes he's under 26. He is exactly doing what you have said- buying a standby ticket.
Can't wait to visit Norway  Smile

Thanks for your help.

RJ100,

That is not a confirmation. That is a cancellation!!!

Edit: Oh and a little reminder... Remember to bring a lot of cash! Norway is almost even more expensive than the beautfil country of Switzerland  Big grin

Hmm...

My friend is Swiss too (but lives in Bodo for a few months). Probably he understands the Norwegian language as much as I do- not at all.

What does this email mean?

Oh and I will bring a lot of cash (and a cheap bottle of booze from the airport duty-free hehe  Big grin )

Hi you guys up North,

Maybe a silly question, but has anyone heard whether Norwegian, Braathens, SAS etc. would be planning to start a direct service to Valencia, from Norway or another Scandinavian country? I was in Norway (Bergen) in June and really loved it, and would find it great to see a direct flight from Valencia.

Damn QIguy24

You fooled me. I will wait a little bit now and strike back whenever I will have the possibility Big grin

P.S.: Tried to book SK (Cimber Air) with some Star Alliance miles but only LH flights showed up in the booking system. This is why I'm flying LH and not SK and QI.

I'm sure you did a good job choosing LH as well. They are a very good airline. But it sounds strange that you can't book SAS. I have amny people flying from here to OSL, ARN and CPH on Mile tickets. Did you call them and ask?

And I have to remember to wish you a nice flight as well before I forget it  Smile

You never know they might open new routes to Spain as many Norwegians have their second home a long the Spanish coastline.

Malaga, Murcia, Alicante and Barcelona all have direct services to Norway (Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Sandefjord, Ålesund and Molde).

I called Lufthansa. Maybe it would have worked when I would have called SAS.
But yes- I'm sure LH will do a good job. And the CRJ-700 is a rocket.  Smile

Cimber Air is still on my "to do list". Sooner or later it will happen because I want to visit Copenhagen for a weekend.

Best regards,
