Hi everyone...

would it be possible for an MD-11 to have a 777 style interior. arent the interior specs of the MD-11 and 777 very similar???
What are the size difference between the 777 and MD-11???

Sure its possible, but what airline would dish out the dollars to upgrade the interiors? I believe seatback IFE can be installed in the MD-11, but no airline currently flying them has opted for it.

Most carriers are busy selling their MD-11s to Fedex, UPS and various other airfreight providers or parking them in the Mojave in exchange for using more efficient aircraft which are easier to maintain.

To conclude, the MD-11 is quickly fading from passenger services so such a refurbishment is like throwing money into a furnace.

Actually, the M11 interior is rather nice, in my opinion. At least with DL, the BizE seats were really nice, and the windows were HUGE...too bad this bad boy didn't keep on serving for longer. At least there'll always be some painted in Purple, or Turd Brown  Big grin

I would rather be working an MD-11 anytime than a DC-10. The current Md-11 interior is just fine as most pax have no clue as to what type of an
aircraft they are riding on.

The 777 style interior is available on the 767 and 747, so it would most definitely be possible on the MD-11. As for interior dimensions, the 777 is 229 in, while the MD-11 is 224 in.

The MD-11 would be the ultimate private jet. I bet you could get a rather nice one for the price of a new Gulfstream G550. It's the maintenance and fuel that would be mega expensive, of course...
